ITHACA WALKS GUIDED TOURS AND WALKS WITH KATRINA PARSEY

The island of Ithaca provides a refreshing holiday destination for those wanting to stay in a small, friendly community away from crowds, traffic lights, airports and motorways.

There is one road linking the north of the island to the south. Small country roads and tracks bear off and lead to hidden hamlets, hilltop monasteries, sleepy seaside villages, deserted beaches and a peaceful and natural landscape of olive groves and pine forest.

Katrina Parsey is an English poet with a passion for exploring Greek islands on foot. Katrina has lived on Ithaca for the past twelve years and has been leading walks in more recent years. Her daily walks will introduce Ithaca’s more inquisitive visitor to the island’s history, mythology, churches, vineyards, beaches, olive presses, windmills, flora and fauna. At a relaxed pace to suit all ages, there will be opportunities to listen to Katrina’s island stories, enjoy stunning views and discover Ithaca’s hidden beauty.

Here are just some of Katrina’s weekly walks:

Folklore and local history walk  - Kioni/Rachi
Popular stroll through olive groves, setting out from Kioni’s Spavento Bar, to discover Kioni’s past and present lifestyles. Visit an old olive press, windmill, cemetery and church. Local cheese and wine tasting.
