The sleepy hamlet of Veliantatika is hidden away amongst olive groves two kilometres north of Gaios and close to the west coast. An old, paved and stepped high street, with an ornate belltower in the centre, leads past a church, an ancient olive press and eight grand houses of Venetian design.
A track leads from the village through olive groves to two tavernas – a walk of five minutes. The olive groves surrounding Veliantatika offer a series of interesting walks to find other hidden hamlets and west coast bathing.

The charm of Paxos lies in the friendliness of its people, in the beauty of its beaches, valleys of cypress trees, wild flowers and olive-clad hills.
