Eysturoy island boasts the tallest mountain in the Faroes at 882 metres and affords breathtaking views. A wonderful island to explore with its tiny villages and small towns. There is good hiking to be had here and the northern village of Gjov, with its sea filled gorge and idyllic scenery is where the charming Gjaargardur guesthouse is located. An excellent base for exploring the Northern Islands of Eysturoy and the Nordoyggjar.
